“Bohemian Rhapsody” movie is an engaging celebration of the rock band Queen, their music and their front man Freddie Mercury. Released in UK and USA at the end of October, from yesterday the movie is at Italian theaters too, and it continues to be talked about on blogs and forums.
What’s more? If you haven’t seen the movie yet, and if you want to bring emotions back, we prepared a dedicated playlist for you!
The myth
Much has already been said on one of the world’s best-selling music band and their charismatic leader. Queens sold around 300 million records, composing unforgettable songs like Somebody to Love, We are the Champions, Radio Ga Ga.
In the Queen’s birthplace, Great Britain, the English by adoption Freddie is considered the sixth best singer of all time, while a BBC survey scores the Queen above bands like Beatles and Rolling Stones, in the ranking of the best rock bands .
In just 20 years of music, from 1970 to 1991, Queen changed the music scene with hits and provocations, riding the trends of sound and style.
As evidence of their greatness, many recent artists pay tribute to them, from Lady Gaga with her stage name, to Mika with some of his songs.
Bohemian Rhapsody’s soundtrack | The other songs
We wanted to try to ideally “complete” the movie, by proposing songs that, even not included in the official soundtrack, can be a starting point to relive the Queen’s magic.
In our playlist you’ll find masterpieces like “You Don’t Fool Me”, composed and realized in 1996, after Freddie Mercury’s death, but also iconic songs like “Fat Bottomed Girls”, one of the most famous classics of the repertoire. It’s not over! You can also enjoy tracks less known as “One Vision”, created by Roger Taylor and inspired by Martin Luther King’ idealism.
Finally, since November is almost over and in Christmas is already in the air, we want to propose you a special song: “Thanks God It’s Christmas” by Queen will cheer up our preparations for Christmas holidays (…maybe before Michael Bublè does…)
The complete playlist is available on our Spotify channel “Sonus faber Official”, or you can conveniently enjoy it by clicking here.
