September was a busy month for us. In just two weeks in Denver, Colorado, Sonus faber attended two very important international shows, even although dedicated to two different sectors: Rocky Mountain Audio Fest, (the 16th edition of the largest consumer audio and home entertainment show in the US) and CEDIA Expo (the international exhibition dedicated to Home Integration).

Sonus faber wanted to be present “in person” at both the shows in order to better explain its new projects. Paolo Tezzon (Chief of R&D acoustic) and Marta Vecellio Reane (Sonus faber Marketing Manager) were there and Marta told us some details.

RMAF 2019: Welcome Olympica Nova!

The new venue of RMAF show attracted the attention of both journalists and enthusiasts from all over the US; this was the best occasion to do the world premiere of Olympica Nova collection, isn’t it?

The new Olympica Nova passive loudspeakers family made its debut in room shared with Audio Research. In addition to the amazing passive display of the entire collection in its two available finishes, the flagship Olympica Nova V made its voice heard in a refined set-up powered by Audio Research, from CD9, to REF6, to a pair of VT80.

The visitors which crowded the room during the 3 days of the show experienced the capabilities of our brand new Olympica Nova V. What they liked the most are the improved transparency and dynamics of sound and the powerful details of lower frequencies.

The essence of natural wood, the refined finish and the combination between satin aluminum and leather fascinated everyone: both the people who already knew the previous Olympica collection and those who discovered it for the first time in Denver!

Sonus faber wasn’t the only one to present a new project; the American company Audio Research presented the brand new REF160S, a Stereo version of the REF160M, characterized by the innovative design of the Ghost MetersTM.

Ref 160S demonstrated its capabilities in the set-up that Paolo Tezzon himself defined “cutting-edge”.

These electronics drove a pair of the Sonus faber.

Such a system would normally require an entire dedicated room, but our team wanted to challenge its limits by offering an “intimate” listening experience; 3 times per day, visitors divided into small groups, were able to enjoy a never-heard listening experience through the purist choice of playing exclusively vinyl.

CEDIA Expo 2019: A marvel of Sound Room

There were great expectations on the first integrated speakers collection by Sonus faber… and they have not been disappointed! At his first participation at the CEDIA Expo, Sonus faber demonstrated the Palladio Level 6 for the first time and it has been a real success.

The Sonus faber sound room, close by “our American sister” McIntosh, has been one of the most crowed sound room in the entire Show, and hosted a system made by 3 LCR PL-664 as front channels, 4 in-wall PW-662 as side channels and 4 in-ceiling models (2 PC-682 and 2 PC-683) together with a subwoofer Gravis V.

In 15 minutes each demo demonstrated the capabilities of our Palladio Level 6 through 3 different tracks: a classic guitar solo track to enhance the musicality and transparency of sound; an excerpt from the musical movie “Rocketman”, that highlighted the sound definition and spatiality; the intro of a science fiction movie that exalted the low frequencies and their three-dimensionality.

A lot of people appreciated the aesthetic of our Palladio Level 6, especially they enjoyed the design of the two leading models of the line: PL-664 and PW-662.

The presence of the natural wooden front panel (available in walnut or wengè finishes) and the iconic string grille make these models different from the entire market offer.

While the Palladio Level 5 is already available, we have to wait a little bit longer for the Level 6: the 7 models of the line will be ready by the end of the year. However, their features and retail prices are already accessible.

We can’t wait to demo Palladio Level 6 in Europe… next date: ISE 2020 from 11th to 14th of February in Amsterdam!! #savethedate
